Motorcycling across the South of France
I lived in France for two years while working at L'Institut de Génétique
Moléculaire de Montpellier (The Institute for Molecular Genetics -
Montpellier). Montpellier is an enchanting city close to the Mediterranean
with many buildings dating to the medieval era. Not only was it a great
place to live, it was also an outstanding launching point for motorcycle
tours across the southern regions of France. While there I made trips
ranging from Toulouse in the Midi-Pyrénées to Aix en Provence and
Marseille in Provence. Here are just a few of the photos that I took while
on my journeys.
Carcassonne is a well preseved medieval city that is best known to American audiences as the site where the film "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" starring Kevin Costner was filmed.

This is the Chateau d'Eau in Montpellier. My old apartment was just a few blocks away from this historic structure.

This medieval castle is to the east of Avignon in Provence.

This photo is from one of the first trips that I made. I'm standing on the Vieux Port in Marseille across from the cathedral.
